Evelyn’s routine echo and cardiology visit went so well! Sorry if I scared anybody by posting this echo pic and no explanation!
So yeah, Dr. Burg said that Evelyn’s heart looks great! Even better than her last echo, about 6 months ago. The pressure in her right ventricle is down to 38, which is still higher than average but it’s great compared to 90 (which is how they met her last year). Reduced pressure means reduced hypertrophy means her right heart isn’t working too hard anymore. All good things.
We told the cardiologist all about Evelyn’s visit to the ER after falling down the stairs and being unresponsive. She immediately ordered a halter monitor and told us to call her office directly if anything like that happens again. And here I thought the PCP would naturally relay that information to her specialists. Silly me. So Evelyn has a little transportable EKG on her chest till Friday afternoon. I’ll have to take a picture and post it tomorrow.
Thank you so much for your prayers for Evelyn as for me and for the rest of our family. I had been so nervous about this echo, I’m sure it’s what contributed to my panic attack last night.
Oh, that’s a new update! Apparently, I’ve been having panic attacks throughout our marriage and I just never realized it. I thought everyone hyperventilated when they cried really hard. Anyone? No? Emotions have been something to get used to now that I’m off the antidepressant and I’m pregnant. It’s like a full swing to the other side of the pendulum. Plus everything smells bad and it makes me angry.
Thane’s interview went really well! We are expecting a call by the end of the week to schedule a second interview. Apparently, whomever they hire will start the week leading up to Christmas! Our lives could change so quickly! Or not. It’s really hard not to get my hopes up about this. And it causes a ton of anxiety and I can feel my heart.
This was a very fun day, though. Right after Evelyn’s appointment, I had Anatomy & Physiology class. And we learned all about the heart. ?
