The birth of this blog began with the birth of my second baby, Evelyn.
Evelyn was born with a collection of heart defects. We didn’t know until the day after she was born that the heart defects even existed. I had been expecting a healthy baby girl, since her ultrasound was completely normal.
It took two months for me to make the decision to start blogging about our journey. It started with Facebook updates that got longer and longer until they were blog posts. And then Growing Gromlichs was born.
You can read about Evelyn’s birth and subsequent diagnosis here:
Once you’ve got that initial story, you’re pretty much caught up and can read current posts. If you feel like you’ve missed something, you can always go back and read through Evelyn’s hospitalizations (warning: the early updates are really medical and kind of boring).
Unlike other blogs, where each post can be read in isolation, this one is really a running narrative of my life. Think of it as a reality show that’s actually real.
I promise, I’m not trying to be narcissistic; I really truly want to bless you and share with you so that you can know, above all else, that God is real and He loves you. He provides for my family over and over again, and I want more than anything to show that to the world: to encourage believers, and to invite everyone else to believe in Jesus Christ. That’s all.
